Africa Oyé is a Liverpool-based festival celebrating music and culture from across Africa and the African diaspora. Held in Sefton Park, the festival brings together international artists, local performers, independent traders and audiences for a celebration of music, food, arts and culture.

I was commissioned to provide event photography for Africa Oyé, documenting the festival as it unfolded. The brief covered live performances, traders and the crowds attending the event, capturing the variety of activity across the festival and the atmosphere that brought it all together.

The outcome is a collection of documentary-style photographs capturing the festival from the stage to the wider event space. The images provide a visual record of the performances, independent traders and audience experience, giving Africa Oyé a library of photography to communicate the scale, diversity and atmosphere of the festival.
