Clay Workshop is an independent ceramics business offering pottery painting and creative workshops. I have worked with the team across several shoots, documenting key milestones in the business's growth, including the opening of its first shopfront workshop and photography for press releases.

Using a documentary approach, I capture the people, spaces and details that make the business distinctive. The photography balances authentic behind the scenes moments with considered images suitable for press, marketing and brand communications.

The outcome is a collection of photography and videography documenting Clay Workshop's growth, celebrating key milestones and providing photography for press coverage and ongoing brand communications.

I photographed the Clay Workshop owner, Olivia, for press release imagery, supporting stories about Clay Workshop that were published across several local media outlets.

Showing the Process

A handheld, B-roll-led video capturing the Clay Workshop team preparing their new members' studio. The informal, documentary style reflects the hands-on, DIY nature of the project, showing the small team bringing the space together without the need for interviews or staged scenes.

Bringing the Studio to the Screen

A series of course explainer videos created for the Clay Workshop website, designed to introduce customers to the workshops on offer. Filmed in the business's original, smaller studio, I directed owner Olivia through her studio and combined this footage with an interview explaining each course. This approach showcased the experience without needing to film a live workshop.

Photography and film for brands looking to tell their story, communicate their values and connect with their audience.
