ARTIST SUPPORT

Harry Garner is a painter who works primarily with figurative painting, his practice stages ambiguous scenes that invite interpretation rather than resolution.

The intention was simple: to create a short body of work that offered insight into the artist and his practice, without staging or over explanation.

The work consists of observational photography documenting Harry painting in his studio, alongside a short filmed interview recorded in the same space. The photography focuses on the act of making, the pace of work, the environment, and the artist at ease in his own setting.

The interview allows Harry to speak candidly about his approach and the ideas that underpin his work. The conversation is reflective rather than instructional, offering context without attempting to define meaning or interpretation.

Making an artist’s process and thinking visible.

Together, the photography and video create a concise, usable record of the artist at work. The material is suited to use across social platforms, artist websites, applications and digital or print contexts.
