LIVERPOOL PHILHARMONIC
Royal Liverpool Philharmonic is a music organisation encompassing a professional symphony orchestra, a major concert venue and a wide-ranging programme of learning and participation through music.
Documentary event photography was commissioned to capture the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Open Day and the Music Room 10 Year anniversary event. Coverage spanned performances across both the main concert hall and the Music Room, documenting the scale of the venue alongside more intimate live settings.
Reflecting the relationship between performers and audience
Approached from a documentary perspective, the coverage focused on atmosphere, movement and lived experience rather than staged performance imagery.
The work included photography of live performances, audience engagement and interaction between performers throughout the day. This featured a live performance by Brad Kella in the main concert hall, alongside moments of connection between musicians and audiences across the wider programme.
